What's your favorite...

Disney Short?

Can I ever pick just one? Uh no, of course not. That is what is so wonderful about Disney. Their are so many productions, characters, songs, movies that I can't just pick one of anything. Plus, I'm an indecisive person. Below are my top two favorite shorts.

Before I go on a rant about my favorites and explain why, I want to share why I love these kinds of productions in general. Most shorts don't have any dialogue. It is mostly music with sound effects whether its a reaction from the character, the weather, or objects moving around them. It is incredible how you can create a story without any words. I know that love doesn't work this way because communication is key ;) But artistically, it is so much fun to watch.

Paperman

I have to admit, I am a bit of a hopeless romantic. You can understand why I instantly fell in love with this one. The idea of two people meeting because of fate tickles my insides and warms my heart until I have a smile that is spread from ear to ear.

Not to mention the color scheme is brilliant. The grayscale with a touch of red popping throughout, specifically her lips, is brilliant.

The Blue Umbrella

(Please excuse the poor quality - the video is not allowed on YouTube and this is the best I could find.)

This is easily my favorite. Making objects come to life and looking for the faces in the nuts and bolts of each item is like trying to figure out a puzzle. An easy puzzle that you enjoy working on, not one that is 5000 pieces and takes a year and a half to finish.

The designer in me loves the animation and the hopeless romantic in me loves the story.

It's amazing that I have so little to say about something that I love so much. Usually I could go on forever about why I love certain things so much.
